Daily Dairy Digest: 24th of March
Los informes de mercado se publican únicamente en inglés. El resto del sitio sí está disponible en su idioma.
After an active Wednesday, yesterday the market slowed down again. We are lacking sellers and buyers, or at least, sellers and buyers close to yesterday's levels. Because as the buyers try to buy lower, the sellers seem to wanna try slightly higher prices again. The unpredictability of the market puts all of our partners in a waiting modus, and the question still remains, who can wait the longest?
There is clearly more supply available best seen on powders, well seen on butter and a bit harder to spot on cheese. We do see that once sellers only sell small bits and pieces as they are afraid to disturb the market. Producers try to keep their sales for closeby (March/April) while sellers are mostly interested in purchases in May-June/Q3. But because the spread between prompt and further out is big enough, we see buyers take the spread deals (they buy close by, for their needs further out. This works best for powders and butter as they are easily stored, but its a bit harder for fresh cheeses.
