Yesterday was a quiet (or can we say boring) start to the week. All partners are still in the same modus. Buyers don't need anything unless it is really cheap, and sellers don't have to sell anything unless someone can pay a really good price. Pressure seems to come from bored trades/brokers who would like to see this stable market turn bearish or bullish again.

Looking at the milk intake, we can argue both sides. Germany continues to produce roughly 2.5% more, but France is lagging roughly the same amount compared to last year. And on the spot market, we hear the market was still waiting for either sellers or buyers to give the first indications. It feels like a staring contest between buyers and sellers but they don't stare at each other, but at the sky, waiting for the weather to change.

We do see energy prices continuing to soften. Gas prices are now trading below € 40,-/MW and oil prices dropped to $ 70,- per barrel. It seems the world needs less oil and gas. Some say it's a clear signal for lower economic activities, while others point to climate change. At least producers are facing lower energy costs, and farmers have also a little less worries about their overhead costs.
