As announced last week, we have spent the summer working on new partnerships and developing new services for our partners. Today we can proudly announce that we have added a new team member to the Get Fair Dairy Team. As of today, Linda den Ruyter will join our team as a Dairy Advisor and Broker in dairy commodities. Linda is fairly new to the dairy industry, but she has built her knowledge and network in an impressive way. With Linda in our team, we aim to be able to inform our partners about more trends in the dairy market and to connect more businesses on a broader spectrum of dairy commodities.

Linda will have her focus on building connections between our buyers and sellers on milk powders such as SMP, SWP and FCMP, for both the Feed and Food industry. Moreover, with Linda, we aim to assist our buyers and sellers more on the export market outside of the EU. But who is better to introduce Linda, than Linda herself?

“Just a short notice from my end to briefly introduce myself as well as to say ‘hi’ to those who already know me; my name is Linda, I have a steady background in agri-commodities and international trade and I am a true people person, I love to build and connect! I am agile on less travelled paths and very eager to find the best possible solution and fit for all stakeholders. I am very excited to start my new role with Get Fair Dairy and I am looking forward to speaking to all of you very soon”!

GDT to determine Powder Sentiment

Looking at the dairy market we expect a slow start of the week, but one that should get more active from Wednesday onward. The biggest event this week is the GDT on Tuesday. We expect the market for powders to wait until the GDT has finished. With some changes made to the volumes offered we expect a less bearish GDT than some expected last week. Speaking to some partners they even believe we might find the way again. Spot milk prices in China would indicate some increased activity and demand. We find news from China hard to measure, but looking at the efforts made by the Chinese government we wouldn't be surprised to see some increased activity. A GDT result between -1% and + 1% is our expectation. Anything worse might push the world market sentiment deeper into the red, anything higher might cause a small relief rally.

September Summer

Back to the EU, we see we are treated to an extra week of summer. We took out our short trousers again and bought some extra sunscreen. With temperatures in the west en east EU between 25-33 degrees we have the nicest weather in weeks. It might boost some late demand for ice cream, but it also boost the grass growth. The combination of rainfall and sunshine creates the perfect conditions for additional milk production. Will the market for liquids stay as bullish as last week? or will we see some easing again? If prices for liquids increase more the gap with commodities becomes too big (in our opinion) and will push commodity prices up.
