Daily Dairy Update: 3th of January
Yesterday we started the year easy. Most market participants were still chatting with their co-workers about the holidays, and those who were working were more involved in looking at the planning than actively looking for new business. The general sentiment does seem to be that we are at a "stable" stage of the market where both buyers and sellers are comfortable.
There was not a lot of news on the market. We see more producers lowering their contract milk price, but we don't think that will have any impact on milk production. The market for liquids does seem to be a bit firmer, but we expect to see slightly higher prices compared to the weeks around Christmas and new Year.
