Daily Dairy Update
Yesterday the market took off slowly. Without much news in dairy, and without much news from outside the market continued its sentiment we left with on Friday. We see more buyers, but none on higher levels, sellers are cautious, although we do see some more willing to offer.
Looking at the milk collection numbers from Germany (up 2.4%) and France (down 1.2%) we see a familiar picture. But even with lower milk intake in France, it seems spot volumes are widely available. One of our partners told us that France is making a lot of premium cheeses and consumers are focussing more on cheaper alternatives.
Most eyes for now will be pointed at GDT. Speaking to our partners nobody really expects a very outspoken result. Even though futures might be pointing slightly firmer, we don't see strong believes in a bullish GDT. Just like our partners we will be watching the results closely.
